What Garden of Witches is in 1.0

Sil sewing in her cottage hub with Canele the cat before a Garden of Witches run

Garden of Witches is Team Tapas' single-player action roguelike on Steam. You play as Sil, the Thread Witch, and hunt down wayward witches so they will attend the tea party that keeps the Garden from collapsing. Combat in 1.0 is built around Scissors, Spells, Imprints, and Relics rather than the old synergy tags. Start with the getting started guide, learn the controls, then pick a loadout from the builds hub before you fight the witch roster.

Quick start

A first-hour plan that does not waste your run.

  1. 1

Learn Sil's kit in the house

Open the getting started guide and set your first Armory loadout before you leave Sil's house. 1.0 lets you pick Scissors and Spells up front instead of rerolling them in the first rooms.

  2. 2

Bind keyboard, mouse, or a pad

1.0 finally added mouse aiming. Read the controls page so dash i-frames, charge skills, and combo finishers land on the keys you actually want.

  3. 3

    Build around one Scissors identity

The old synergy tags are gone. Follow the combat guide and the scissors tier list so Giant Scissors, Magic Scissors, and Singing Scissors do not fight each other.

  4. 4

    Clear chapters, then the epilogues

Use the walkthrough for Chapters 1–5 and the epilogues guide for Maydel through the 1.0 ending. If the greenhouse is a wall, read how to beat Fiena.

  5. 5

Unlock Challenge Mode after Epilogue 3

Once the tea party is complete, Challenge Mode is the real test. Bring a refined best build and the relics that actually scale.

FAQ

Wiki FAQ

Quick answers about Garden of Witches 1.0.

Is Garden of Witches out of Early Access?

Yes. Team Tapas shipped version 1.0 on 28 August 2026 after Early Access that began on 23 May 2025. The 1.0 launch notes cover the combat overhaul, Epilogues 2 and 3, keyboard-and-mouse support, Steam Achievements, and Japanese voice-over for the main story.

Where should a new player start?

Read the getting started guide, bind inputs on the controls page, then pick a starter kit from the builds hub. You do not need a perfect relic roll on chapter one.

Is Garden of Witches single-player only?

Yes. The Steam build is single-player only. You fight as Sil, alone, and retry domains until the witches agree to the tea party.

What languages does the game support?

Steam lists English, Japanese (full audio on chapters 1–5), Korean, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian, German, and Spanish (Spain). This wiki covers English, French, German, and Spanish.

How do builds work after the 1.0 overhaul?

Attribute tags, synergies, and runes were removed. You now choose Scissors, Spells, and special skills in the Armory, then reshape them with Imprints and Relics. Charge, Combo, and Channeling define how each skill actually plays. See the combat system and best builds.

Is this wiki official?

No. It is a fan resource. Confirm patches, prices, and trailers on the official links page and Team Tapas' Steam news hub.

Ready to save the Garden?
