Garden of Witches System Requirements
A light Unity action game on paper — still check RAM and Deck settings before Challenge Mode.
Garden of Witches is a 2D-looking, 3D-tagged Unity action roguelike that Valve has marked Steam Deck Verified. It is not a ray-traced showcase. It can still hitch when a later boss fills the screen with fire and numbers. Use this page before you blame Giant Scissors for a dropped i-frame.
Windows — minimum
- OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i3-4160 or AMD FX-4350
- RAM: 4 GB
- GPU: GeForce GTX 650 Ti or Radeon HD 7750 (1 GB VRAM)
- Storage: 4 GB
This is the “it launches” line. 4 GB RAM is tight once Chrome, Discord, and Steam Overlay are also hungry. If the Book stutters when you Tab mid-fight, close the overlay and add RAM, do not rebind dash.
Windows — recommended
- OS: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 or AMD Ryzen 5 1400
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: GeForce GTX 960 or Radeon R9 380 (2 GB VRAM)
- Storage: 4 GB
Recommended is still a 2015-era card. Most machines that can run Hades or Cult of the Lamb can run this. Late-chapter particle density is the real test, not the title screen in Sil’s cottage.
Steam Deck
Verified. Handheld play is real. Practical notes:
- Gamepad glyphs are the path of least resistance.
- 1.0 mouse aiming works on the right trackpad if you want Magic Scissors to snipe. Test Charge holds in the house first.
- If a boss fight dumps frame time, drop effects. Dash timing is a frame-time hobby.
- Docked Deck is a controller. Do not pretend it is a 120 Hz monitor.
Steambase and the store page also list Mac and Linux as platform flags on some scrapes; the Steam store requirements block that ships with the game is the Windows table above. If you are on Proton, treat Deck Verified as the good sign and keep a save in Steam Cloud.
Controllers and Cloud
Steam categories: single-player, full controller support, Xbox, PlayStation / DualShock / DualSense, Steam Cloud, stats, Family Sharing. The game is single-player only. Bindings are on the controls page.
Languages
Interface and subtitles: English, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain). Japanese voice-over for the main story arrived in 1.0. This wiki is English, French, German, and Spanish because those are the European Steam languages we localized; we skipped Simplified Chinese and Russian by policy, and we did not take on every official language at once.
Other practical specs
- Price: $18.99 list. 1.0 did not hike it. Launch week used a discount.
- Install: about 4 GB. The OST is a separate DLC.
- Age labels: GRAC 12 in Korea (violence, horror); similar 12-ish labels in Germany. It is cute until a spider-book witch is on fire.
- Achievements: 31 on Steam in 1.0.
If the game will not launch, verify files, disable overlay, and check that you are not on a 32-bit OS. If it launches and feels bad, that is probably the combat system asking you to dash, not the GTX 960. For official support channels see links. For a kit that will not melt a Deck at 7 watts, prefer Fireball house over a particle-heavy summon zoo — the Armory planner marks the heavy kits.
Laptop players should plug in. The minimum CPU is a 2014 dual-core; boost clocks drop hard on battery and Charge windows start to feel sticky. That is not a Sil problem. That is a watt problem. Close the browser used to read this wiki, then open the wiki again after the run. The Garden can wait twenty minutes. Your dash timing cannot.
