Garden of Witches Updates

From May 2025 Early Access to the 1.0 tea party — what changed and what still will.

Patch Updates Hub

Garden of Witches spent fifteen months in Early Access and then shipped version 1.0 on 28 August 2026. If your bookmarks still say “early access roguelike,” update them. The combat you remember from synergy tags is not the combat in the live build.

This hub is the patch map. The 1.0 launch notes cover the overhaul, Epilogues 2 and 3, keyboard-and-mouse, Steam Achievements, and Japanese voice-over. The Early Access timeline is for people who sat through 0.8, 0.9.2, and the gold-shop funeral and want the history in one place.

Why the patch history matters to a build

A Fireball clip from June 2025 is still Fireball. It is not still a synergy-tag Fireball. Relic names were deleted. Echo of the Swamp was nerfed at the base and moved into imprints. Challenge scores from 0.8.2 did not always survive later resets. If a guide on the open web does not mention Armory, Charge, or imprints, it is an archive. Use this wiki’s combat and best builds pages instead.

How to stay current

  1. Steam news for app 2530470 is canonical.
  2. Official Discord is the feedback channel Team Tapas actually reads.
  3. This hub will summarize, not replace, those posts.
  4. When a hotfix retunes a cooldown, we will note it. We will not pretend we saw the number first.

Official URLs sit on the links page. Community hangouts sit on community.

What 1.0 did not change

  • Single-player only.
  • Steam as the PC storefront (Stove also ran a launch discount in some regions).
  • $18.99 list price; Team Tapas said they would not hike it for 1.0. Launch week ran a discount.
  • Steam Deck Verified.
  • Cute art, jazz, scissors, tea.

What it did change is everything you press. Read version 1.0 before you copy a loadout, then go back to the guides hub. The Garden is still the Garden. The tools you use to save it are new.

If you are returning from a six-month break, the short version is: Armory first, tags never, mouse aiming is real, Maydel is not the ending anymore. Then open getting started as if you were new. Pride is how people walk into Abigail with a 2025 Fireball and call 1.0 a nerf patch.

Keep the Early Access timeline for archaeology. Keep this hub for the live branch. When a hotfix lands, it will be listed above the history, not mixed into it. That is the whole point of splitting 1.0 from the fifteen months that taught Team Tapas to delete tags.
