Garden of Witches Best Builds
Four complete 1.0 identities you can actually take out of Sil's house.
A “best build” in Garden of Witches 1.0 is a sentence, not a 40-tag screenshot. These four sentences clear the story and still have something to do in Challenge Mode. Swap parts if a patch retunes a number, but do not swap the sentence.
If you have not left the cottage yet, read getting started first. These kits assume you can dash on command.
1. Giant Scissors — Ambush burst
Sentence: Fill Sharpness with Ambush, finish Giant strings for the 1.0 combo crit, dump a second Spell when the bar is fat.
- Scissors: Giant
- Spells: Ambush + a dump (Fireball brick path, or a slash-style imprint if you own one)
- Relics: Sharpness on cast (Cat’s Eye Ring), weapon damage, cooldown
- Imprints: Giant finisher nodes; Ambush Sharpness nodes; dump-spell damage, not utility
- Why it works: This is the kit inside the Challenge Mode video on that page, rewritten without the old tag cap. You still delete rooms in one breath. You just do it with imprints instead of “remove every witch tag.”
- Dies to: Floor fire while you are stuck in a finisher. Dash before the string, not after.
2. Magic Scissors — Charge poke
Sentence: Hold Charge, pierce the pack, crit past gauge one.
- Scissors: Magic
- Spells: Shadow Surge or Fireball pellet path + Counter
- Relics: Blue Chakram, Arcane Parasite, anything that loves crits and Spell casts
- Imprints: Downpour if you actually hold; Threading if the room is Rims & Berry or a wave map
- Why it works: 1.0 mouse aiming exists for this kit. Keyboard-only can play it, but you will fight the facing cone.
- Dies to: Tapping instead of holding, or taking Giant leftovers “just in case.”
Use this on controls day two, not day one.
3. Fireball house
Sentence: The Spell is the weapon. Scissors exist to occupy your left mouse button between casts.
- Scissors: Default or Magic (do not fight Fireball for Sharpness)
- Spells: Fireball + Counter or Blood Marble
- Relics: Arcane Parasite, cooldown, on-cast effects
- Imprints: Pick brick or pellets and commit. Mixed Fireball imprints are how people feel like the spell “got nerfed.”
- Why it works: Reviewers were right in 2025 — Fireball carries. 1.0 made it a fork instead of a default win. It is still the easiest story clear if you buy cooldown.
- Dies to: 17-second gaps with no dash plan. Counter is the adult solution.
4. Swamp / clock AoE (Maydel and Challenge floors)
Sentence: Fields do the killing while you dash through waves.
- Scissors: Giant or Singing (after Epilogue 1)
- Spells: Blood Marble + Shadow Surge or Fireball pellets
- Relics: Collector (Dice), AoE percents, nothing that slows move speed
- Imprints: Stack and cooldown nodes; Blood Marble stack-cast
- Why it works: Epilogue 1 is a single map with a timer. Single-target Charge bricks waste the clock. This kit also behaves on any Challenge floor that pays for speed.
- Dies to: Standing in your own marble and forgetting the mid-boss exists.
How to use these without becoming a tourist
Pick one sentence for the whole chapter. Do not start Giant burst and then greed a Magic Scissors relic. The Armory planner is the same four kits in table form if you want to screenshot it onto a phone.
Broken Scissors + Hunger is a fifth sentence for people who like timers: keep Sharpness or die. It is not listed as a headliner because it bricks more first-time Nahatra attempts than it saves. When you are ready, the contract is on the scissors and imprints pages.
What is not a best build
- Two Charge spells and no dash plan
- Three identities and no imprint
- A curse that eats i-frames because the relic name was funny
- Any 2025 tag screenshot with “6 synergy” in the corner
Garden of Witches is short enough that you can try all four headlines in a weekend. Take Giant burst into Abigail, Magic poke into Rims & Berry, Fireball into a story evening, and swamp AoE into Maydel. Then keep the one that made Sil feel like a witch instead of a spreadsheet. For the witches themselves, the roster is next.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Garden of Witches 1.0.
What is the easiest Garden of Witches 1.0 build for story?
Fireball house with cooldown and Counter. Giant Ambush burst is stronger later but greedier.
What should I take into Challenge Mode?
Giant Scissors Ambush burst or swamp AoE if the floor has a clock. Details on Challenge Mode.
Do I need Singing Scissors for a complete kit?
No. They are a Maydel reward and a fun fifth identity, not a requirement for Chapters 1–5.
Why did my copied YouTube build feel weak?
It was probably a synergy-tag list. Rebuild the same sentence with imprints and 1.0 relics.
